Homeland for Other Diasporas
(Collaboration with Lo Mei Wa) 2016 poem, sound, megaphone, metal frame on loop, 158 cm x 20 cm x 15 cm Colourful Generosity by Lo Mei Wa So, I donate every colour to the blind men: I pluck my black eyes where they see Himalayas; I shave my black hair where they see samurai fingers running in-between; I cut off my yellow breasts where they see pale Eastern men searching for mother's milk. I throw all of me away into the fence, and walk away unnoticed. In a yawn's time, I close the zoo's gate, returning to the world's ocean with my leftover skin, where other girls are waiting for me, peacocks swimming, and frogs soaring high. |
